Vanessa Gaston’s foundations of theoretically rigorous design were laid at the esteemed University of the Philippines Diliman – graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture.

In the pursuit of continuing her remarkable growth as a well-rounded designer, she moved to Italy to earn a Dual Master of Furniture Design and Interior Design at the Florence Institute of Design International. She also traveled to New York to study Product Design at The New School-Parsons Design School.

Her evolution in design is attributed to her time spent under the tutelage of extraordinary mentors wherever she went. Beginning with her time with Filipino designer Vito Selma; continuing in Italy with the American minimalist, Peter Forbes, and Italian furniture designer, Leonardo Rossano; and finally, the industrial designer, Andrea Ruggiero in New York – Vanessa has honed her craft under masters of the various languages of design.

Today, her journey has resulted in a unique artistic vision, characterised by a sensitivity to contemporary design culture applied to a timeless minimalist framework and enriched by the warmth of Filipino craftsmanship.
